Default Birth Time
FAQ: "What happens if I don't know my birth time?"
If the Alchmizer is run without a birth time input by the user, a default time of 8:00 AM is used as their birth time.
Reasoning for 8:00 AM
Data - Historical data indicates that humans have tended to be born in the morning. Whether this is due primarily to human biology, or simply for the convenience of doctors' schedules, the trend is global.
Convenience - Using 8 as the default hour has a number of advantages:
It's exactly ⅓ of the way into a day
It's a perfect cube
It's indisputably "the morning"
Time Zone Logic
For the Alchmizer to compute with maximum accuracy, it needs to know the time zone associated with the birth time. When the time zone is not directly provided, the Alchmizer uses available information to make a best guess.
If the user provided a birth location, then the Alchmizer uses the time zone of that location for the birth time.
If the user does NOT provide a birth location, then the Alchmizer uses the time zone of their device in the moment.
Alternatives
6:00 AM - there is a good argument for this, as being ¼ of the way into a day instead of ⅓ is also very convenient
12:00 PM
12:00 AM
What do you think?
Do you think the Alchmizer should use 6:00 AM, or some other default time?
Do you have a different idea for how to handle the calculations without a birth time?
Do you just wanna say "great job"?
