Degrees

Each of the 12 signs is composed of 30 degrees. Together, they sum to 360 degrees, representing the 360 degrees of potential angles of each planet relative to Earth. As time passes, planets travel through space in their unique elliptical courses around the Sun. As they do, the planets pass through the different signs as their positions change relative to Earth.

A planet's degree has a unique alchemical name and effect associated with it, regardless of which sign it's in.
